After completing a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Sydney, I worked in architecture, large-scale urban sculpture and eventually Indigenous housing after moving to Darwin in the Top End of Australia in 2009.

In 2010, I began the transition into full-time set and costume design finding it an enthralling creative outlet and used my skills in design, concept development, drawing, drafting, model making, painting, sculpting and building to create unique alluring worlds for telling stories and above all make moving experiences for people.  Collaborating with directors, writers, other designers and the production crew also made the work more meaningful.

While I had begun my set design career in Sydney some years ago at the Darlinghurst Theatre Company, the real transition occurred in Darwin. I designed approximately twenty small-scale mostly professional shows for various companies such as Brown’s Mart Theatre, Corrugated Iron Youth Theatre, Darwin Theatre Company, Knock-Em-Down Theatre, Salt Productions and Sanity Productions. The majority of these were premiering new Australian works such as Broken by Mary Anne Butler, Marbles by Kate Wyvill and Bastard Territory by Stephen Carleton.

Now living not far from Naarm (Melbourne) on the Mornington Peninsula on Bunurong / BoonWurrung country, I design shows and assist main stage designers while teaching performance design, drafting and model making and mentor design students at the Victorian College of the Arts in Southbank and previously Monash University in Melbourne.
